Why Pages Are Locked and How to Unlock Them

  • A padlock icon on a page thumbnail means another user currently has that page open for editing. Only one person can edit a page at a time.
  • Hover over the padlock icon to see which staff member has the page locked.
  • The Assignments panel also shows who has the page locked.
  • Advisers can force-unlock a page — this ends the page design session for the user currently editing it.
  • If a page shows as locked by you, you can also break your own lock and reopen the page.
