Transparency and Drop Shadow
- Select an object or frame and go to the FX menu at the top.
- Opacity controls transparency — 100% is fully opaque; reducing it lets elements beneath show through. Works on both images and text frames.
- To add a drop shadow, check the Apply Shadow box in the FX menu. Four settings control the result:
- Distance — how far the shadow is cast from the object
- Opacity — how dark or transparent the shadow appears
- Blur — how diffused or hard-edged the shadow is
- Angle — the direction the shadow is cast
- Use the color swatch in the drop shadow settings to change the shadow color from the default black.
- Create a glow effect by setting drop shadow Distance to a very low value (e.g., 1) so the shadow sits directly behind the object, then adjust Blur, Opacity, and Color.
- To remove a drop shadow, uncheck the Apply Shadow box.
