Creating Topic Tags

Learn how to create and manage topic tags to organize your yearbook ladder by subject.

Create Topic Tags in Settings

  • Advisers and editors can go to Settings > Topics to create topic tags.
  • The list on the right shows all the topics that are active in your book. You can edit or delete tags here.
  • On the left is a list of common yearbook topics. Check the box to add any of them to your active topics list.
  • Type in the search field to filter both lists.
    • If you see items you want on the suggested list, just click to activate them.
    • If you don’t see what you want, just type in this field and press the Plus button to add it to the active list.
  • You can start typing your topics as you want them and press Enter when done to add it to the list.

Other Places to Create Topic Tags

  • In the Tags panel in the Library, advisers and editors can create topics while tagging images.
  • In the Book module, advisers and editors can add topics while applying topics to pages.
  • If you don’t see the topic you need on the list, you can type in the new topic and press Enter or Return. This will create a new topic and apply that topic to the page or image.

💡 TIP: Creating topics is fastest when you already have a list to work from. Decide on your topics before activating them in eDesign to save time and stay organized. Also, see Export Settings to Next Year to learn how to save forward a past year’s topics.
