Caption Builder uses the name tags on a photo to automatically create caption text — either a simple name list or a structured group caption with row designations. Here’s how to use it:
- Prerequisite: The photo must have names tagged before you can use Caption Builder. Right-click the image and choose Tag Image to verify tags are in place.
- Open Caption Builder: Right-click the image and choose Create Image Caption.
- Caption Builder options:
- Character Style for Names: Choose the character style you want applied to the names in the caption.
- Rows: Set to Do Not Include Rows for a basic name list. For a group caption with row labels (front row, second row, etc.), select the appropriate row style — this uses the Auto Rows data set up in Tag Wizard.
- First Name or First Initial: Choose whether to display the full first name or just the initial.
- Include Grades: Check this box to add the student’s grade in parentheses after their name.
- Click Build Caption — a text frame with the tagged names (formatted with your chosen styles) is created on the page. Write your caption copy around or below the names as needed.
