Resolution warnings help you catch images that may not print at full quality.
Here’s what the warning means and what to do:
- Digital images are made of pixels. As you scale an image larger, the pixels spread out — at some point, individual pixels become visible and print quality suffers.
- The warning appears as a large caution symbol on the image when it is below 250 pixels per inch (PPI) at its current size.
- Hover over the warning to see a tooltip showing the image’s current resolution at its current size.
- How to resolve it:
- Scale the image down inside the frame (by adjusting cropping) until the warning disappears.
- Or use the image in a smaller frame elsewhere on the page.
- Do not ignore the resolution warning — it means the image will not look its best when printed in the yearbook at that size.
