This tutorial covers the core face tagging workflow and the basics of Tag Wizard. For full details on more of its features, also review the Tag Wizard in Action PDF guide.
In the Library, open an image and click Tag Faces in the Names panel.
- Tag Wizard will scan the image, place frames around every face, and suggest matches it identifies with 90%+ confidence.
- If TagWizard is not activated in your book, red frames will be applied to each face so you can still benefit from tagging with frames, but TagWizard will not identify faces to make suggestions. Search and apply a name to each frame to tag.
Click a face frame to highlight the matching name in the panel, or click a name to flash the corresponding face frame. Use Zoom to Face to center the view on a specific face.
Click the checkmark button to confirm a match, or, if you’ve reviewed all the matches and they are correct, click Confirm All to tag them all at once. Confirmed frames turn green and names move to the top of the list.
Frame Colors Explained
- Yellow: Tag Wizard has a suggested match — review and confirm to tag.
- Green: Match has been confirmed — this face is tagged.
- Red: Face detected but no portrait match found — click Search, select name, confirm.
- Blue: Face matched to a portrait but no match on the name list — click Search, review match, select name, confirm.
- This can happen when the name on the name list is different than the name on the portrait (e.g. nickname).
